When does PSM apply to my facility?
PSM applies to processes involving chemicals above "threshold quantities" (TQ) defined in Appendix A of 1910.119, or flammable liquids/gases in quantities of 10,000 lbs or more in one location.
What is the frequency for Mechanical Integrity inspections?
OSHA requires inspection and testing frequencies to be consistent with "recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices" (RAGAGEP), such as API 653 or API 510.
How often must PHAs be revalidated?
Under 1910.119(e)(6), the Process Hazard Analysis must be updated and revalidated by a team every five (5) years to ensure the PHA is consistent with the current process.
